Saudações!

Olá! Seja bem-vindo a este simples projeto.

Eu me chamo Sketch Cerberus, criador deste quadrinho!

Concepção do quadrinho

Greetings!

Hello! Welcome to this little project.

I'm Sketch Cerberus, the creator of this comic!

I'm really happy you're here and that you've given this somewhat crazy story I'm telling a chance.

How the comic came to be

Around 2020–2021, I started studying programming in college with a goal in mind: I wanted to make a platform game with puzzles and combat, inspired by Hollow Knight (if you haven't played it, I highly recommend it!).

That's how the first ideas for this story came about. At the time, I was a huge fan of Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF), especially its mysteries. I thought the idea of scattering pieces of a story across websites, riddles, and things like that was fascinating. I was even planning to make an ARG!

It was during that period that some of the protagonist's traits and abilities took shape. Ideas for the setting also originated then, although they've changed a little since, of course.

Actually, the protagonist is older than that. I don't remember exactly when I first drew him, but one of my Minecraft skins was based on those drawings, back when the character had a more primitive design. The characters' personalities were inspired partly by my own personality and by people I've met throughout my life.

Some of my inspirations for the story, characters, and settings were FNAF and Infinity Train. More specifically, Ennard and the Steward, respectively, helped inspire Malware.

The world of Cyber-Us, meanwhile, draws from many sources, including Adventure Time, The Matrix, The Amazing World of Gumball, Hollow Knight, and others.

Why did I decide to make this comic?

I discovered WEBTOON through YouTube Shorts, and that's how I started reading comics online. But it was the comic PLAYZONE (I highly recommend it!) that gave me the courage to try telling my own story.

Reading PLAYZONE made me realize I didn't need a huge production team behind me to tell the story I wanted to tell. So I gathered all my determination and dove headfirst into this project.

And, to tell you the truth, it's been really fun and rewarding!

Anyway, if you've read this far and have a project or an idea that's still just on paper because you're not sure it'll work out: give it a try!

Wait, I know. All of this is scary. It's uncertain, it might go wrong, and it might even seem like an enormous waste of time. But here's what I'd say: take a deep breath, stop overthinking, and just do it!

Yes, I know that's easy to say. Because it is easy to say.

Only you know how much anxiety and fear you feel. Just as only I know what I was feeling that day when I decided to start this project.

But think about it: we don't know whether we'll like a food until we take the first bite. Now imagine if you'd never tried your favorite food!

What matters is that you tried. And that's already more than many people ever get around to doing.

What drives this project most is my desire to grow as an artist and writer, and to improve my English. But I also want Cyber-Us to have the same effect on someone that PLAYZONE had on me.

If I can inspire even one person to bring an idea to life, create something, or leave a little mark of their own on this world, I'll be happy with the result.

And right now, Cyber-Us is a project made up of...

(Drumroll, please...)

ME!

But I hope to put together a team to help me eventually.
